Returning Light
I start again, the new day after the darkest
shining so brightly with shimmering sensation
Here, now, present, connected, the brook babbles, the birds sing, the air shifts as the radiant sun warms us all
I invite my ancestors with the candle I light, here, only I cannot perceive them with my senses. Time separates us, but this is just an illusion
The illusion breaks, for a moment, time unbounded, all directions. I cannot fully hold it, and it slips from my grasp
Now, still, I am a reflecting pool
Nature ecstatic to breathe and flow, and I am one with it
together we flow, exchanging essence, light increasing and bringing us collectively out of the darkness, dim perhaps
Rising
Recharging
Stored somewhere, and breaking free
Entropy is the enigma which I strive to place somewhere other than in myself
The system, one in it, prana flowing down, the world turns, the planets move, the stars dance, the whole creation continues
Time
This moment, this now, ongoing, eternal, a perfect gift
The solstice passes
